What do you believe are the two most important issues the RTM must address and what solutions would you propose?

The power of the RTM is it's grassroots character and our communication with our constituents. Over the past few years I've concentrated on the responsible development of multi-family housing along the Post Rd. We can't stop it but we can work with the developers to improve the outcome.
An example is Geigers. I worked with my neighbors and the developer through multiple meetings in my home addressing issues and creating inventive solutions.
These proposed developments all over town are going to stress our infrastructure. Identifying and solving these issues will be a challenge in the coming years

Managing change and improving efficiency are the two most important issues for the RTM.  Change is a certainty.  We will face changing statewide budgetary constraints, changing educational mandates and changing population dynamics.  We must be able to delicately balance growth and the need to maintain the unique characteristics that make our town such a desirable place to live.  All elected officials and town employees must make improving efficiency a top priority. We must embrace a holistic budgetary approach that aggressively targets innovative solutions that reduce expenses. We must scrutinize every line item in both the town and BOE budgets

Born and raised in Manhattan, I am grateful for the beauty and benefits of living in Westport daily!  As District 6 representative, I’ll work collaboratively with constituents and town representatives to ensure that Westport remains desirable and vibrant. I believe protecting our town character and ensuring that our schools thrive are vital issues.  My financial industry experience combined with time as an elementary school educator provide me with a unique perspective to face these and other unforeseen challenges.  My volunteer roles (The Conservative Synagogue EVP, SES PTA Secretary, BMS PTA) demonstrate my leadership ability and commitment to community.

The RTM must support maintaining the excellence of Westport Public Schools by approving measures that preserve minimum class size. While reducing overhead should always be encouraged, the RTM should also support BOE budgets that maintain music, art, athletic, and guidance programs so critical to our children’s development. As many District 6 constituents have told me, Compo Beach is currently in crisis due to overcrowding, insufficient maintenance, and lack of regulation enforcement. The RTM should support sharply reducing the number of daily out-of-town permits, restricting drop-offs, upgrading facilities, and funding construction of a South Beach pedestrian walkway and restrooms
